Examine
yourself and lead me in the way everlasting
|

Dear Savitrie
"I've
been going back & forth for months (possibly years)
on whether to divorce my husband or not. Youngest
is now 18. As far as I know, there has been no
adultery committed by either of us. He says he
loves me, but doesn't & hasn't listened to me
for the entire 20 yrs of our marriage. I'm constantly
embarrassed by his aggressive argumentative behavior
whenever we go out - store, restaurant, party
- doesn't matter. He makes considerably more money
than me & my lifestyle would definitely change,
yet I still feel I want to leave & start over
(even at age 48). Is it wrong to be selfish &
want to leave? Is it wrong to stay for financial
security (which is the only reason I've come up
with so far to stay)? He says he'll change, but
I've heard that numerous times. He says he means
it this time, but I'm thinking its only because
he knows my hand is on the door knob. There is
just too much to forgive or forget. DO I DO WHAT
FEELS RIGHT FOR ME or STAY IN THE MARRIAGE?? -

Savi Says
"My
advice to you is to examine yourself. You are
blessed to have a husband who is able to financially
support you. There are no Biblical grounds for
you to divorce your husband. As the Bible says
in the Book of 1 Corinthians 11:28-30, But
let a man examine himself, and so let him eat
of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who
eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and
drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the
Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and
sick among you, and many sleep. After doing
that - start seeking God and putting Him first
in eveything. Fast and pray for your husband like
Queen Esther did. She also made herself physically
beautiful for him. God has kept you in this marriage
all these years, do not throw it away. Be strong
in the Lord. Pray and ask God to show you yourself.
Psalm 139:24 says - And see if there is any
wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
Be a true example of a Godly woman to your
husband." -
